RANCH SUPPORT

Supporting the property and its infrastructure is essential to ensuring the ranch remains a place of lasting impact. Carefully designed trails, well-maintained roads, and thoughtfully planned recreational activities will create unforgettable experiences, allowing recipients and their families to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this property for years to come.

  • Freedom Road

Stretching .8 miles through the heart of the Big Sky Bravery Ranch, Freedom Road is more than just a paved path—it is the beginning and end of a life-changing journey. As the only road leading through the property, it will serve as the gateway to every Task Force experience, offering crucial access to the programs that transform the lives of active-duty Special Operations Forces and their families. From the moment recipients arrive to the moment they depart, this road will be the first and last impression—a quiet, powerful stretch of ground that carries the weight of their stories, reflections, and renewed strength.

  • The Honor Flag

Standing tall at the beginning of Freedom Road, the Honor Flag will serve as a powerful symbol of sacrifice, service, and restoration. Illuminated 24/7, this flag will be visible to every recipient, family member, and guest who enters the Big Sky Bravery Ranch—an enduring reminder of what’s been given and what’s being rebuilt. The American flag flown here will hold deep significance as it will have been carried on combat deployments by an active-duty Special Operations Forces member. It represents the relentless fight these warriors face—and the safe haven this ranch provides in return.

  • Family and Alumni Motorized Trails

Winding through approximately 20 designated acres of the Big Sky Bravery Ranch, these exclusive motorized trails are reserved solely for our alumni and their families. Intentionally designed to preserve the peace and natural beauty of the property, these trails provide a private space for light recreation, including the use of ATVs and snowmobiles. More than just a recreational feature, these trails serve a deeper purpose: to allow those who have experienced our programs to pass along the joy, freedom, and connection they found here to their children. It’s a way for our warriors to share the Montana experience with the next generation—on their terms, in their time, and with those who matter most.

  • Hiking Trails

Covering more than half of the Ranch’s 85 acres, our network of hiking trails connects every corner of the property—from the lodges and cabins to the Rec Barn and beyond. Winding through secluded Montana forest, the trails offer families, alumni, and recipients a private place to explore, rest, and breathe deeply. With benches along the way and frequent sightings of elk, deer, and other wildlife, these paths provide both adventure and quiet respite, while honoring the serenity of the land.

  • Archery Course

Set on 10 wooded acres, our Archery Course is a walking loop of 3D targets and varied shooting stations—walk, shoot, and circle back to the start. Just steps from the lodge, it was designed for the active-duty warriors in our programs and the families who join them, offering both challenge and connection. A kids’ archery area ensures younger generations can take part too, passing on the focus, patience, and respect for the outdoors that bowhunting instills.
